Hall of Fame Requirements

 

This organization is dedicated to the outstanding bowlers of the Cecil Harford United States Bowling Congress Bowling Association and its predecessors. The Hall of Fame honors those bowlers who through their competitive skills, high personal standards and dedicated principles, have enriched the general welfare, spirit, reputation and progress of the sport of bowling.

 

Nomination forms are available through the Cecil Harford USBC Bowling Association web site (www.chusbcba.org) or at any local bowling center for any member to have the opportunity to submit nominations for the Hall of Fame. The sponsor of a nominee should provide sufficient information. All nominations must be turned into the Cecil Harford USBC BA no later than November 30 th of each year. Nominations received after November 30 th will be considered the following year.

 

The committee to elect the Hall of Fame nominee will consist of all Hall of Fame members and current CHUSBC board members. 15 voting members must be present to vote. No proxy votes will be accepted.

 

To be eligible for election to the Hall of Fame in the Superior Performance category a candidate must be or have been:

A member of the CHUSBC BA for at least 15 years as of August 1 of the year of nomination.

  • Member must have a CHUSBC BA yearbook average of 21 or more games per year as of August 1 of the year of nomination.
  • Be at least 40 years of age
  • Meet at least one or more of the following:

A candidate must hold at least 10 (ten) scratch bowling titles, at least 2 (two)of which must be singles titles, earned while a member of the CHUSBC BA. As a member of CHUSBC BA, they have represented the association when earning these scratch titles (team, doubles, singles, all-events) The titles could include but are not limited to: CHUSBC BA Association titles, CHUSBC BA 700 Club titles, Mixed Association titles, other association titles, State Association titles, BPAA titles, National or Professional titles, etc.

 

To be eligible for election to the Hall of Fame in the Meritorious Service category a candidate must be or have:

  • Served the members of the CHUSBC BA for at least 20 years
  • Be at least 40 years old
  • Meet at least one or more of the following:

A candidate must have shown dedication to the sport through service in one or more of following service criteria. Served as an Association Officer, Director, or Association Manager, served as a League Officer, formed leagues, served as a Tournament Director, served as a youth coach or program coordinator, etc.

 

Sponsors, Proprietors of bowling centers and members of the media are eligible for nomination providing:

  • They have acted in their capacity for at least 20 years
  • They have demonstrated service, devotion, and unselfish contribution of their time above and beyond the ordinary to the sport of bowling.

Waiver of eligibility can be accomplished in extreme extenuating circumstances by a 75% vote of the Hall of Fame Committee.
