Kay Scott helped organize a league at APG in the late 1940's in the basement of the Ordnance School. She has been bowling in leagues ever since and has won many of their high games, high series, and high average awards.
Kay's first big title came in 1961 when she won the Baltimore WBA's All Events Championship, scoring 1561 scratch and 1876 handicap. In 1967 she bowled on a team that rolled 1080 scratch (Kay had 246), which was in the WlBC top ten scores for that time. Also, in 1961, she won the first Bob Turley Bowl Doubles Alibi Tournament with partner John Hartung.
Kay's Harford County WBA titles include: All Events Scratch with 1630 in 1968, All Events Scratch with 1686 in 1969, and All Events Handicap with 1976 in 1986. Scratch Doubles with 1125 in 1977 and in 1990 with 1177. She was on five Championship Scratch Teams.
The Maryland State titles that Kay has won include: All Events Scratch with 1777 in 1966, Three Team Events, Two Seniors Championships (1988 and 1191), and the most prestigious Queens title in 1970. She was also a State 600 Club winner with a 636 scratch.
When the Harford County invitational Tournament was bowled in Bel Air Bowl and Harford Lanes, Kay won three times and cashed in the first four places several other times.
Kay's career high game is 277, high series is 678, and highest average is 182. She is still averaging in the 170's at the present time.
