A. Robert (Bob) Thomas was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 15, 1919. He and his family moved to Harford County in 1950.

 

Bob became involved in bowling in 1960 with the opening of Bob Turley Bowl (Bel Air Bowl).

 

In 1969, he became the Secretary-Treasurer of the Cecil-Harford Counties Bowling Association, a position he currently holds.

 

 

 

Bob has actively participated in many leagues and tournaments with much success. He was the Maryland State All Events Champion in 1968. He also was the Maryland State Seniors Champion in 1985 and participated in the ABC National Seniors Tournament in Niagara Falls.

 

In 1987, Bob was voted Life Membership in the Cecil-Harford Counties Bowling Association.

 

Bob and his wife, Laura, reside in Bel Air. They have four children and nine grandchildren. He is retired from the Lee Electric Comppny.

 

For his many years of service to the Cecil-Harford Counties Bowling Association and to the game of American Tenpins, Bob Thomas is inducted into its Hall of Fame.
